1. Is turf difficult to lay?
Ans: No. The hardest part is site preparation. Laying the turf is straight forward. Back to backand side to side, staggering th joints. Avoid walking on the prepared soil or newly laid turf.
2. When can I lay turf?
Ans: Any time of year when conditions allow. PLease note however that turf must not be allowed to dry out. It will shrink and die! During dry weather you must keep the turf moist until it is established. During hot dry conditions, saturate the turf daily. 99.9% of failure is due to a lack of moisture.
3. When should I start to mow the new lawn?
Ans: This depends on the time of year that you lay the turf, but as a rule of thumb - check if the turf has rooted and attached to the soil, then as soon as is neccessary start mowing. Never mow more than one third of the grass plant off at any one time. ie. Take the mowing height down gradually
4. What are the approximate dimensions of the turves?
Ans: 98 inches by 16 inches. This equates to approximately 1 square metre.
5. How long can I keep the turf before laying it?
Ans: Ideally within 24 hours of delivery. After that it may start to change colour and eventually die, especially in warm weather.
6. What about delivery?
Ans: Delivery will be on the day of your choice except Sunday. The driver will do his best to place the order where you want it but it is expected to be near kerbside.
